Church

South Jersey Community Church has a very simple approach to ministry. Our purpose can be summed up in two words…Simply Jesus. We exist to make Him known, Worship Him and to Serve Him by serving our community. For us, knowing God isn’t about religion, it’s about relationship; the relationship with Him that He made possible for us through the death of His Son, Jesus Christ, on the Cross.

Our vision is both near and far. We see the importance of making disciples of Christ and maturing right here where God has planted us, but we also see the need to reach out across the entire globe with the life changing message of the Gospel.

Come and experience the difference a relationship with God through Jesus can make in your life. At SJCC, you’ll find a contemporary, relaxed atmosphere, an upbeat worship style, and Bible-based messages that are relevant to your world. A church with a single focus…Simply Jesus.

Mission Statement:

South Jersey Community Church exists to glorify God by fulfilling the great commandment (Matthew 22:13-36) and the great commission (Matthew 28:18-20).

Doctrinal Position:

Inspiration of scripture-
We believe in the scriptures of the Old and New Testaments as verbally inspired by God, as inerrant in the original writings, and they are the supreme and final authority in faith and conduct and all other matters upon which they speak (2 Timothy 3:16; Hebrews 4:12; 2 Peter 1:19-21).

The Holy Trinity-
We believe in one God, eternally existing in 3 persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit (Genesis 1:1, 26; Deuteronomy 6:4; Matthew 28:19; John 4:24)

The person of Jesus Christ-
We believe that Jesus Christ is the only begotten Son of God, conceived of the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary, and is true God and true man. (Isaiah 7:14; Matthew 1:20, 23; John 1:1-4; 3:16; Philippians 2:5-11).

The person of the Holy Spirit-
We believe that the Holy Spirit is the third person of the trinity, whose ministry is to convict the world of sin, of righteousness and of judgment, and to regenerate the unbelieving; and to sanctify, comfort and teach those who accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior (John 16:8-11, 3:6-7; 14:26).

The sin nature-
We believe that man was created in the image of God, that he sinned, and thereby incurred not only physical death, but also that spiritual death which is separation from God, and that all men are sinful both by nature and by choice (Genesis 1:26-27; Romans 3:23, 5:12-14; Ephesians 2:3).

The substitutionary sacrifice-
We believe that the Lord jesus Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures as a representative and substitutionary sacrifice, that all who believe in Him are justified on the grounds of His shed blood (1 Corinthians 15:3-4; Revelation 1:5).

Salvation by grace through faith-
We believe that salvation is by grace through faith, not of works, and that all who receive by faith the Lord Jesus Christ are born again of the Holy Spirit, thereby becoming children of God, eternally secure in Him (John 1:12, 3:3-7; Ephesians 2:8-9).

The Resurrection of Jesus Christ-
We believe in the resurrection of the crucified body of our Lord, in His ascension into Heaven, in His present ministry there for us as high priest and advocate, and in His imminent coming to rapture His church (Acts 1:8-11; 1 Corinthians 15:4; 1 Thessalonians 4:13-17; Hebrews 4:14-16; 1 John 2:1-2).

The second coming of Jesus Christ-
We believe in the personal and visible bodily return of the Lord Jesus Christ to set up His kingdom upon the earth (Zechariah 14:4; Revelation 19:11-16, 20:1-15).

The resurrection of the dead-
We believe in the bodily resurrection of the just and unjust; the everlasting conscious blessedness of the saved, and the everlasting conscious punishment of the lost (1 Corinthians 15:20-24; 2 Corinthians 5:8; Revelation 20:12-15.

Our History:

South Jersey Community Church was established in December, 2003 as a church plant of First Baptist Church of Clayton, NJ. Beginning with a core team of about 30 adults, we have been serving the Lord in Williamstown since that time in various rented locations.

Today, we exist as an independent, self-governed, self-supported body of believers. We belong to a fellowship of churches through the organization, Mission Mid-Atlantic, which is a group of like-minded Conservative Baptist Churches working together in the Mid-Atlantic region to reach the lost for Christ.
